Capitalism

copyPASTEcopyPASTE

In preparation for attending a state fair (particularly the Iowa State Fair), watch this movie. It communicates the high drama (punctuated by slapstick comedy) and soaring romanticism (set to syncopated rhythms) that, inevitably, present themselves at the event.

Gentlemen realize there are few things as rewarding as being fairly compensated for their work.

In my present circumstance, this translates to receiving a paycheck for “chatting up” rustics and hobnobbing with carnies.

i used to luuuurv this movie! every summer at grandma’s DC apartment, too humid to visit the various memorials, we would watch “state fair” and “singing in the rain,” pretty much on a loop.
